Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for measurement of reovirus immunoglobulin G, A, and M levels in serum.
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were developed for the quantitation of anti-reovirus immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgA, and IgM in serum. The assays were specific, sensitive, and reproducible and measured antibodies to the reovirus group antigen. They should permit diagnosis of recent reovirus infection and longitudinal study of the development of reovirus group antibodies.

Microimmunofluorescence methods used for detection of immunoglobulin G and M antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis are not available to many clinical laboratories. We evaluated a simple enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in which serotype L2 elementary bodies are used as antigen. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay proved satisfactory for the detection of serum IgG. A total of 160 human sera wer...
متن کاملStandardization of immunoglobulin M capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for routine diagnosis of arboviral infections.
Immunoglobulin M antibody-capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (MAC-ELISA) is a rapid and versatile diagnostic method that readily permits the combination of multiple assays. Test consolidation is especially important for arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses) which belong to at least three virus families: the Togaviridae, Flaviviridae, and Bunyaviridae. Using prototype viruses from each of...
متن کاملDiagnosis of postnatally acquired rubella by use of three enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for specific immunoglobulins G and M and single radial hemolysis for specific immunoglobulin G.
Three commercial indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) (RUBELISA, Enzygnost-Rubella, and Rubazyme) and a commercial single radial hemolysis (SRH) test (Rubazone) were evaluated for the diagnosis of acute rubella by testing 41 acute- (less than 7 days postonset) and convalescent-phase (8 to 82 days postonset) serum pairs from cases of rubella previously confirmed by significant ch...
متن کاملEvaluation of the PANBIO Brucella immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for diagnosis of human brucellosis.
PANBIO Brucella immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) were assessed against Brucella standard agglutination tube and Coombs tests. The sensitivities of ELISA IgG and IgM were 91% and 100%, respectively, while the specificity was 100% for both. These ELISAs are simple, rapid, and reliable for the diagnosis of human brucellosis.
